Responsibilities

  • Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Manage collections and send payment reminders as needed
  • Prepare and submit billing to government agencies and private funding sources
  • Reconcile billing data across multiple systems to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain organized and accurate billing records and reports
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Track and bill transportation-related services
  • Prepare and post weekly deposits
  • Respond to billing and accounts receivable inquiries from staff, families, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Assist with audits and compliance-related documentation
  • Support special projects and additional accounting functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Billing and/or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Experience processing invoices, payment applications, collections, and reconciliations
  • Experience billing government agencies, insurance companies, or similar funding sources preferred
  • Nonprofit accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with Blackbaud or similar billing/accounting software highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic reporting functions
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay

  • $24-$27 per hour, based on experience
  • Temp-to-permanent opportunity

Schedule / Shift

  • Monday-Friday
  • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Fully onsite in Madison, CT
